Gianluca Sepe

Head of legal affairs, procedural guarantees and litigation Directorate - Italian Antitrust Authority

Gianluca Sepe joined the Italian Competition Authority in 1998, after completing his studies in Rome, London and Florence. He is currently heading the Directorate for Legal Affairs and Litigation.
Mr. Sepe has extensive experience in the field of EU competition and consumer policies. He has been in charge of EU Affairs at the Italian Competition Authority from 2017 to 2022, and spent 18 months at the European Commission as seconded national expert.
Moreover, Mr. Sepe has been directly involved in the implementation of numerous projects of international co-operation and technical assistance serving as Resident Twinning Adviser (RTA) at the Commission for the Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia (KZK) from 2019 to 2021, and at the Croatian Competition Agency (AZTN) from 2010 to 2012, in the context of EU-funded Twinning projects.
Mr. Sepe authored a number of publications in his field of expertise, and is a regular speaker at national and international events.
